What a Great Weekend

...that is such a lame title for my blog post. :-(

This weekend was thoroughly enjoyed. I got a milk shake with Dillon and shared a big BIG bowl of strawberry short cake with a friend on Friday. (we were on a sugar high! haha) On Saturday, I wrote another psyc. paper, made chocolate chip cookies, and just hung out. YPCG Saturday was pretty good too. We learned about the difference between Wisdom and Conviction. (plus erin and I giggled like the whole time. sure. we were two of the oldest there, and we were the immature ones! it was a fun memory though.)

Then yesterday. Oh yesterday. The day of insane amounts of fun and pain! I went skiing for the first time. ever. It was great. As soon as I got onto the first trail, I fell off the side into the mud and ripped Alaina's snow pants. I got up and said to my dad "WHO GETS MUDDY WHILE YOU GO SKIING!?!" I was so embarrassed, but it was pretty funny. I got the hang of it by the second time down the mountain. It is physically tiresome, but its not hard at all.

I almost fell off the edge of the cliff, too. As I was going around a bend in the trail, my right ski caught a patch of ice and my left one didn't, so it made me go off balance. I slid down the bend and my ski popped off about six inches from the edge of the trail. If I would have fallen any farther, I would have fallen into the tops of pine trees. Though some thought I should do it just so I could tell the story, I was glad I didn't make it to the bottom of the trail the wrong way :-)

The most fun part of the whole trip was my last run down Lost Boy. It was this really long train down the backside of the mountain. It was just enough adventure to get your adrenaline pumping! Because Lost Boy goes down the back of the mountain, it doesn't lead you back to the lodge. We skied to the bottom, then had to ride a different lift back up to the top, and go down the front of the mountain. It took us like a half hour. Oh, but it was so worth it. That 15 minutes of straight ski before we took the life back up the mountain was so hard on my legs, but it was such a blast!

Have a Magnificent Monday!
