The Final Countdown...




Well, we are now nearly 12 hours away from departure and everything is surprisingly calm here. The last suitcase to be packed is the one that will contain our bathroom stuff. All of the kids are scurrying around trying to collect anything they think might be of necessity for flying in a plane. And of course, Hannah had to hear about the recent plane crash into the Hudson River. Upon hearing the announcement on the radio, she said, "Daddy, is our plane going to crash into water, too?" Then Aaron asked, "Dad, is the plane we will be flying on going to be blue?" Kind of like his "pancakes?!" comment on Christmas morning when trying to guess what the big surprise would be. we can always count on Aaron to entertain us with silly antics. But for some reason, it was really important to him to know whether or not we would be on a red, white, or blue air plane.

Well, my dear readers, I am happy to tell you that I am going to bring my laptop to Disney, so hopefully I can post pictures and blog while there!

I just had a thought. This time next summer, I will have chosen a college, secured financial aide, and found a room mate. The only decisions left will be what color I want my dorm room bed spread. Not Much but Just Enough

It is so incredibly easy to lose sight of where you are in life.  One thing piles onto the next and all of a sudden you are swampped with a million things lined up in your datebook and a billion thoughts going through your mind.  Sometimes I get so overwhelemed in my own life and busyness that I lose track of all the great things God is doing for me.  As some of you may know, I quit my job at Giant Eagle to persue photography full time.  I can't really describe the feeling of peace I had about it when I made the decision; I just knew it was the right thing to do.  At first it was slow going and kind of discouraging, but over the last couple of months I have been able to make enough money solely through photography to support myself and all of my expenses.  It would be easy to stop at that and brag on myself and my accomplishments, but I truly am humbled by the fact that God would choose to bless my efforts to use the talent he gave me to make a living....

I'll take 3 please!

So today as I was sitting in the waiting room of National Tire and Battery getting my car's oil changed I was watching the "Fox Business" channel. Minute after minute went by, but it seemed like hours. The mundane news anchors talked about how dumb it is to invest in gold bars, and how the flies in Georgia are beginning to migrate North for the winter. (the thing about flies isnt real, but it shows you how much attention I was paying to the TV). I was just about to bust out my iPod when I heard something that piqued my attention. A famous Japanese fashion designer invented an H1N1 suit. It looks just like a business suit, but the fabric on the outside has high-powered infection repellant so the H1N1 germ is killed instantly upon contact.
